Tighened the belt on my alternator a bit, and it works now!!! I need to tighten it a bit more to prevent excess wear, but it works and the light doesn't go on! I drove the car to band yesterday, and I went on a 18ish mile joyride today. It was awesome. I drove my car to the band banquet and it was raining very hard. I was scared, but it was good practice to drive my car in a hard rain. The ride home was awesome and it made me realize how much I love my car. I didn't want to stop.

I got my box from Moss Motors today. I installed the new windshield wipers which was suprisingly easy and fun! I also got the pulley for my alternator. Hopefully I'll get the fan tomorrow or Saturday. Also, if anyone is interested. http://web.ics.purdue.edu/~bangelo/ that is my car!

So I found a new parts dealer today, and they are extremely helpful. The guy is sending me a new alternator fan. Theoretically, I'll have no problem getting home for Thanksgiving.

Well, the pulley and the wipers came in, but the fan is still somewhere between Europe and here. Got some PB Blaster to loosen the rusty bolts and hopefully get those seats out. I called the place to order my new top and carpet, but I got their answering machine because I thought they were on lunch break. Turns out the place is in England, and they weren't on lunch break.... I was just way off

For those who don't know my car is a 1973 MG Midget. I got it for $1520 from a car collector off of e-bay. It needs some love, but it is a great car! Currently it doesn't work because I took the alternator out to replace it. I am waiting on a part for the new alternator to come in.

Here are the current plans for renovation. Before Thanksgiving break, I am going to sand down, patch up and re-paint the floorboard and the hole in the side of the car. Then I am going to install a new convertible top.

Over Thanksgiving break, I am going to install new carpeting and make new side panels for the interior.

So I fulfilled a dream and bought a car. Big props to my parents for letting me buy one. It's amazing how happy having a car has made me. Sometimes, I walk out to the car just to look at it. It is beautiful. I am learning so much about auto repair and bodywork that I'm almost in disbelief. It is like every day, I fulfill a dream over and over again.
